Apollo is an alternative investment manager. Since its founding in 2002, we have set up and managed eight funds. These Funds, combined with Apollo’s balance sheet, have been the sources of capital for the more than 100 aircraft that Apollo has contracted to acquire in the last eight years.
In October 2010, Apollo completed funding the Sciens Aviation Special Opportunities Fund (SASOF), a $213 million fund. SASOF will be used to fund the acquisition of aircraft that will be parted out immediately or aircraft under short-term lease (less than two years) that will be parted out upon lease expiration.
